Learning Spaces student guide

Bayes Business School has several syndicate rooms students can book for their studies and learning via the Bayes website. These rooms are equipped with a range of technologies that enhance hybrid learning.

Input sources can be selected using the remote control shown below. From top to bottom the following controls are available.

1. Power on and off switch
2. Source selection options
3. Source selection button
4. Volume up and down
5. Options selection

1. Wake the PC by tapping the keyboard or clicking the mouse.
2. Ensure the screen is switched on by pressing the on/off button on the remote.
3. Press the Source Selection button.
4. Use the Option selection up & down arrows to select ‘HDMI 2’ from the list.

1. Attach the HDMI cable to your laptop or device. Adapters are provided on the attached ring.
2. Attach the USB cable to connect the touch interface as well as camera and microphones that are built into the screen for video conferencing.
3. Press the Source selection button.
4. Use the Option selection arrows to select HDMI1 from the list.

To use the Avocor unit for video conferencing, you must select the correct settings in Teams, otherwise you may not be visible or audible. You can do this either before a call or during a call.

Before a call

To adjust settings before a call, select Settings, located next to your icon in the Teams app.

Select Devices.

• For audio devices, select Avocor USB audio.
• For speaker and microphone, select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. This will be louder than alternative options.
• For camera settings, select Avocor USB camera.

During a call

In a call, select ‘more’ (three dots located on the taskbar) > Device settings.

• For audio devices, select Avocor USB audio.
• For speaker and microphone, select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. This will be louder than alternative options.
• For camera settings, select Avocor USB camera.
